Our Founder and President

Dr Radhika Batra (Founder and President)

Dr. Radhika Batra received her medical degree from India and is currently part of the Residency Training program and pursuing her specialization in Pediatrics. She is the Founder and President of Every Infant Matters, an NGO focused on improving the lives of millions of disadvantaged children by carrying out various activities such as blindness prevention, promotion of breast feeding, deworming, and others.

Radhika has received several national and international awards for writing, debates, poster presentations and others. She is also a Huffington Post blogger. Her article on organ donation was published in the Times of India main newspaper. In 2015, she received a Fellowship from UK to work as a Clinical Researcher at the University College London, She has worked as Clinical Research Associate for Operation ASHA since 2005.

She has served as State Secretary of Delhi/NCR Chapter of Indian Medical Students’ Association for 2 years. She is an American Heart Association certified Basic Life Support  Provider, and a reviewer for the Indian Medical Journal of Students’ Research

In October 2018, she was invited to speak at the One Young World Summit at The Hague Netherlands, where she spoke about the burning issues in childcare, and her mission to prevent blindness in children.

Work experience

  • Received a Fellowship from UK to work as a Clinical Researcher at the University College London, Royal Free Hospital, in March 2015
  • Served as State Secretary of Delhi/NCR Chapter of Indian Medical Students’ Association (IMSA) from February 2012 to August 2012
  • Served as Public Relations Officer at IMSA, August 2012 to August 2014.

      • July 2011 – Won second prize in college debate ‘Euthanasia – A Doctor’s Dilemma’.

       

      • August 2011- Won first prize and overall running trophy at , S.K. Sen Memorial Inter College Debate on Euthansaia, organised by Delhi Medical Association

       

      • December 2011 – Awarded Gold Medal in a Debate on ‘Privatisation of Medical Facilities is beneficial for the community’ at AURA 2011 (College Fest of Santosh University

       

      • July 2012- Attended NDTV ‘We the People’ debate on Euthanasia as a part of the interactive audience.

       

      • August 2012 – Awarded Second Prize and running trophy in S.K Sen Memorial Inter College Debate 2012 at Delhi Medical Association, on ‘Doctor Patient Relationship .

       

      • Published Article entitled ‘Where words come out from the depths of truth’ in December 2009 edition of Lancet Student.

       

      • Article ‘ Healing Words are hard to find’ in Journal of Pioneering Medical Sciences.

       

      • September 2012 – Awarded certificate of merit for being amongst the top ten finalists in the Journal of Pioneering Medical Sciences Writing Competion.

       

      • Recieved second prize for writing from Journal of Pioneering Medical Sciences

       

      • Published article entitled ‘Eternity in An Hour’ in Journal of Pioneering Medical Sciences.

       

       

      • April 2011- Awarded a Certificate of Merit in the AmeriCares India–Health Angels Competition at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Selected among the top 20 finalists out of the 13,000 participants from all over the subcontinent. Presented a poster titled ‘Project Jeevan- Community Empowerment for Comprehensive Healthcare.’

       

      • May 2011- Awarded First Prize for an observational analysis ‘Forensic Medicine through the Ages’-A study of age old mysteries and how they were solved using new techniques in forensic medicine and toxicology at INPAFOCON 2011.

       

      • August 2011- Awarded Gold Medal at MEDSICON 2011, Safdarjung Hospital New Delhi for presenting the same observational analysis. The abstract was published in New Indian Journal of Surgery.

       

      • September 2011- Awarded Certificate of Merit for a poster presentation entitled ‘Terrorism and Trauma’ at INDUS EM 2011, AIIMS (New Delhi).

       

      • June 2012- Presented a research paper titled ‘Scientific Solutions to Strange Sagas’ at KARMIC 2012.

       

      • August 2012- Presented a research poster titled ‘Coping With Corticosteroids’ at MEDSICON 2012. The abstract has been published in New Indian Journal of Surgery.

       

      • October 2013- Won first prize, a sum of 1,00,000/-, trophy, and certificate. At the Healthcare Innovations and Entrepreneurship Awards 2013, organized by AIIMS & Oklahoma Universities.

       

      • December 2013- Presented Technology showcase at World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), organised by Imperial College London in Doha, Qatar.
